What happens when a values-driven insurer looks beyond funding and chooses to truly invest in young people’s futures?

Our partnership with Ansvar Insurance is a powerful example of how shared purpose can create lasting change. In early 2025, Ansvar’s Programme of Giving awarded Esteem a £75,000 grant over three years to support our Positive Change Programme, helping 14-26-year-olds across Sussex build confidence, develop vital life skills and access emotional and social support. But this partnership is about more than financial investment – it’s about collaboration and the effect that purposeful business partnerships can have on young lives.

We asked Jane Perkins, Marketing Manager at Ansvar Insurance, to share her thoughts about our partnership. Here’s what she had to say…

Why Ansvar Chose to Partner With Us

“At Ansvar, we’re committed to supporting (in various ways) charities who promote healthy lifestyles to children and young adults. We were impressed when we read Esteem’s Programme of Giving application which talked about their work empowering young people through confidence-building and personal development and we saw a genuine opportunity to make a meaningful impact together.”

Alignment with Business Values

“Partnering with Esteem has helped us go beyond financial support and actively engage in activities with the charity’s young people and we hope this will increase in the future.”

Impact That Reaches Beyond the Charity

“The partnership has had a ripple effect across our organisation. Staff have felt proud to be part of a company that invests in young people’s futures, and several have expressed an interest in volunteering. We also hope that it will enhance our reputation with customers and partners who value purpose-led business. Most importantly, we’ve seen the tangible difference Esteem makes in the lives of young people – and that’s incredibly rewarding.”

What Stands Out About Working With Esteem

“Esteem’s genuine passion and professionalism. The team is not only deeply committed to their mission, but also incredibly collaborative and transparent. They’ve made it easy for us to be involved and kept us informed about the real-world impact of our support. It feels like a true partnership, not just a transaction”

Why Other Companies Should Consider This Path

“If your company is looking to make a real, measurable difference in the lives of young people, Esteem is an ideal partner. They are values-driven, impactful, and a joy to work with. Supporting Esteem isn’t just good for the community, it’s good for your people and your brand. We’d wholeheartedly encourage others to get involved.”

Why This Matters

Across 2024-2025, Esteem supported 267 young people across Sussex. As funding pressures force other youth services to scale back or close, the need for safe, trusted support for young people has never been greater. Demand for our services continues to rise, and without sustained investment, too many young people risk being left without the help they need.

Ansvar’s commitment ensures the continued delivery of our Positive Change Programme, providing young people with consistent emotional support, dedicated one-to-one guidance from youth workers, and confidence-building activities such as non-contact boxing, football and surfing. These aren’t just activities – they are lifelines that help young people build resilience, connection and belief in themselves.

This partnership shows what’s possible when purpose-driven businesses and mission-led charities work side by side – creating lasting, measurable impact not only for young people, but for the wider community too.
