We’re excited to launch the Creative Club, a new fortnightly space for 18-26 year olds to explore creativity, learn new techniques and enjoy time making things together in a calm, welcoming environment.

The Creative Club has been created directly by young adults through Esteem’s recent Creative Review.

The group wanted a space that feels relaxed, low-pressure and genuinely theirs – a place to discover new ideas, try things out and feel good while doing it. The Creative Club brings these ideas to life.

What to expect

Every other Thursday, from 5–7pm, the Old School House will open its doors for an evening of creativity.

Each session includes:

  • A fun, light-touch creative icebreaker to get people started
  • An optional informal workshop led by a creative professional, exploring things like songwriting, filmmaking or printmaking. (The first week will be a Photography Workshop)
  • A chilled making space across several rooms, with materials ready to use – from collage and drawing to digital tools in our creative suite. Staff will be around to support you in using tools including:
    • 🖊️ Drawing & Doodling
    • 🎤 Music making (Microphones, garageband, midikeyboard)
    • 📷 Camera & Lighting Set Up
    • 🧶 Crafts Kit
    • 🎨 Painting Stuff
    • ✂️ Collage Kit
    • 🖊️ Digital Illustration Tools
  • A short optional show-and-tell at the end for anyone who wants to share what they’ve made

You can come with a project in mind or simply turn up and see what inspires you.

Shaped with young adults

The Creative Club is part of the refreshed creative offer co-designed this autumn. Young adults reviewed the entire programme, celebrated what already works, and set clear priorities for change. Their ideas focused on three outcomes: discovery, wellbeing and access to real creative opportunities. The Creative Club reflects all three.

A welcoming, accessible space

Sessions are designed with care so everyone feels comfortable taking part. We’re making sure the space is accessible:

  • Soft lighting, quiet music and pauses between activities.
  • Creative tools to suit everyone, from large pieces of paper and markers to digital art tools.
  • Tasty snacks! (Nut free)
  • Staff on hand to support your creativity.
  • Wheelchair accessible downstairs space.
  • An extra quiet space if you need some time apart.

If you have any specific access or dietary requirements – we’d love to hear from you! Please get in touch.
