At ESTEEM a few of us have decided to take part in the John Muir Award. The John Muir Award involves discovering and exploring wild places and doing what we can to conserve it. The idea is to engage with nature and take steps to protecting it all while documenting and sharing these experiences.
So far, we have done a nature photography activity in which we explored Shoreham beach and took photos of some plants and wildlife. We were also able to identify some birds that we saw while out and about. We are going to do some sustainable planting using cuttings from scraps of food which will hopefully be planted into an allotment once they have grown. Young adults are also encouraged to carry out their own exploration and activities in their own time.
